A graduate of the University of Georgia, Scott G. Sink has been working in the risk management and insurance industries for more than three decades. The senior executive vice president of McGriff, Seibels & Williams, Inc., Scott G. Sink oversees 60 people who handle casualty and property insurance programs and attends the Risk & Insurance Managers (RIMS) Conference every year.

In addition to its annual conference and other events, RIMS, an organization dedicated to advocating for and educating the risk industry, offers several in-person learning opportunities. Among them are the organization’s hands-on workshops and courses. These workshops keep professionals up-to-date on developments in the industry. They cover a range of topics, such as claims management and enterprise risk transfer, and often last between one and three days.
RIMS chapters that want to bring a workshop to their local members can do so through the organization’s professional-development events. Through these, chapters choose a specific workshop topic relevant to local members to help them improve chapter membership value.
Companies also have the option to bring workshops to their business. Through in-company training programs, workshops are tailored to meet the needs of a business and are prepared for delivery on-site, so professionals can attend without worrying about travel. Special programs are also available that cover either current topics or new topics that are a particular concern to a business.
