Golf Digest has announced its top golf courses for each state over the course of the 2017-2018 season. In Alabama, the Shoal Creek Golf and Country Club once again ranked as the state’s most impressive course and as one of the top 200 courses in the United States. Shoal Creek was joined in the nation’s top 200 by the course at the Country Club of Birmingham West. The state’s top three courses were rounded out by The Ledges Country Club in Huntsville, leaving Alabama with the same top three golf courses for the second year in the row.

The remainder of the list, however, was not as static. The course at Turtle Point Yacht and Country Club in Killen jumped from No. 7 to No. 4, while a new course in Gulf Shores, Kiva Dunes, made its debut at No. 5. Other courses in the top 10 included Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail courses in Prattville and Opelika, and the Old Overton Club in Vestavia Hills.
